BODY { font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px; }Thanks, Andrew, I created a new category at World University and School's open wiki http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Library_Resources#Twitter_for_Learning [1] for this tweet. Here's an invitation to add internet research oriented content to the open, free World University and School. It is called https://twitter.com/internetpapers and it will tweet links to new articles from JCMC, NMS, FirstMonday, JOC, etc. as new papers are released or TOCs are updated. Current journals supported include: * Journal of Computer Mediated Communication (JCMC) * New Media and Society (NMS) * FirstMonday * Journal of Communication (JOC) * International Journal of Web Based Communities (IJWBC) This is just the beginning so more to come. Unfortunately, it looks like Informa managed journals (e.g., Information, Communication & Society, Research on Language & Social Interaction) produce invalid RSS so I'll do something different for those later. If this Twitter service is of use to anyone (in addition to me) and you would like a journal added (or removed), please DM, reply or email me :) Kind regards Andrew _________________________________________________________________ http://andrew-long.name | Department of Information Science | School of Business University of Otago | NZ | +64 3 479 8319 | _______________________________________________ The mailing list is provided by the Association of Internet Researchers http://aoir.org Subscribe, change options or unsubscribe at: http://listserv.aoir.org/listinfo.cgi/air-l-aoir.org Join the Association of Internet Researchers: http://www.aoir.org/ Links: ------ [1] http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Library_Resources#Twitter_for_Learning [2] http://scottmacleod.com

Great idea Andrew! Can we tweet articles to you too? Recently I've been trying to get into using CiteULike's tweet feature... maybe that would be another way to facilitate this? Thanks, Katy Pearce UCSB

Research on multiplex relations and online communities?
by Cuihua Shen 07 Nov '09

07 Nov '09

Dear all, I am currently doing research on multiplex relations in online communities and would love to get input from the AoIR group on relevant research on this topic. Specifically, I am interested in the following: 1) the categorization of interpersonal relations (e.g, socioemotional, instrumental, co-workers, friends and family, etc), particularly in online settings. 2) how social circles (e.g., co-workers and friends) overlap and coalesce, and how they affect collaborative and psycho-social outcomes. 3) how new relations emerge and develop in online communities and provide multiple functions. Any tip is much appreciated! Cuihua -- Cuihua (Cindy) Shen PhD Candidate Annenberg School for Communication, USC www.shencuihua.com
