The Digital Society: Philosophical Perspectives Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia. 30-31 August 2019 The 15th Annual Estonian Philosophy Conference will take place at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia on 30-31 August 2019. The program will consist of plenary invited talks and parallel sessions of contributed talks. We welcome contributions by philosophers from Estonia and abroad on any topic in Philosophy and its history. A special track will be devoted to this year’s theme: The Digital Society: Philosophical Perspectives Contributions to this theme are expected to address philosophical issues connected to the development and spread of digital technologies. This includes the social transformations and impact of emerging technologies, as well as the epistemological and ethical challenges that are raised by the advances in robotics, big data, algorithmic governance and artificial intelligence. Contributions that address more general topics in the philosophy of technology are also welcome. Dear AoIR Members, On 11 March, we will call for nominations for people to run for several positions on the Executive Committee: Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, three Open Seats, and Student Representative. The Vice President term runs for six years - with two as VP, two as President, and two as Past President. All of the other positions are elected for two-year terms. Members of the Executive have their membership fees waived for the duration of their term, and pay a reduced conference registration fee. To help inspire members to stand as candidates in this election, AoIR has established a nominating committee, but you are perfectly welcome to nominate yourself or others for any of these positions, independent of the committee's encouragement.
